Highland Lake Inn & Resort has been fortunate to experience a year of strong growth following the difficulties of the COVID-19 pandemic. To sustain this trajectory and continue enhancing resort operations, the leadership team has expanded to include the new position of Lodging General Manager. It is with great excitement that Highland Lake Inn & Resort announces the promotion of Britt Combest to this new role.
Britt is a native of western North Carolina and holds an MBA with honors from Montreat College. After working as a Regional Operations Manager and an Accounting and HR Manager around the U.S., she chose to settle back in the Fairview area to raise her daughter in 2006, working as a Senior Auditor and Finance Director. Britt came to HLI as Director of Finance and HR in 2021. In her free time, she enjoys miniatures, her dogs and riding a motorcycle around our mountain backroads.
“Britt brings a broad range of experience and knowledge coupled with an effective leadership approach that will lead our Lodging Operations team’s success into 2023,” said Jack Grup, resort owner. “I couldn’t be more pleased to have her lead our Lodging team into the future.”
“From the historical treasures to the lush landscape, Highland Lake Inn & Resort is a beautiful place to work,” said Britt about her new promotion. “The team here is dedicated and talented and they sincerely care about providing a great experience for every guest. I appreciate the opportunity to grow with the property and look forward to our continued success.”
Delivering the best guest experience is paramount and has always been the top priority of Highland Lake Inn & Resort. While the challenges of the pandemic have diminished, staffing shortages and the changing economic climate have presented new obstacles. This new position will ensure the leadership team remains innovative and flexible in meeting the demands of the future.
